spaghetti bolongese

j's favorite pasta dish!
i saw this recipe on 6 Bittersweets, and once j saw the pictures, he wanted it immediately.
so demanding!
all i did was add the ground beef to make a little meat sauce, perfect-a-mundo.

i tried to twirl the pasta on my fork with my left hand and take the picture...it was a fail for the twirl.

Spaghetti Bolognese
Slightly adapted from 6 Bittersweet
Serves 3 to 4
1/2 pound spaghetti pasta
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
3/4 tsp salt, divided
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup vegetable or chicken broth
1 (14.5 ounce) can pureed tomatoes
1/4 cup whipping cream
parmesan cheese, to garnish
fresh basil, to garnish

cook the pasta with a little salt and oil.

saute the onions until tender. then add a pinch of salt, pepper and garlic.
here i add the ground beef and cook it thoroughly.
then add the can of tomatoes, broth and a dash of salt.
once it starts to mix together, i add the whipping cream.
keep stirring until everything combines, just a couple of minutes.
and then you're done!

place the pasta on a plate with a generous heap of the sauce.
and dig in!
delish!!

steak with thyme

dinner for two on a good night.

i found this recipe on greedy gourmet
but with no porcini mushrooms, i had to do without them.
the thyme made it taste amazing.
although the steak was a little tough.
i should've pounded it a little like my mom would have to make it more tender.
next time!

yummy blueberry pancakes

a perfect breakfast for two..or three or four!
i got some blueberries from the farmer's market and knew i had to make some pancakes.
i followed journey kitchen's recipe almost to a tee.
but i didn't have any baking powder, so no baking powder, and i used regular milk instead of buttermilk.
i also tossed the blueberries in some flour before folding them into the batch so that they don't sink to the bottom when cooking.
it turned out just fine! not too thin, not too thick!
yummy in my tummy!

served with extra blueberries and bananas on the side..perfection.
